El\u00a0Pichi Leuf\u00fa<\/strong>\u2014cuyo nombre proviene del idioma mapuche, donde\u00a0Pichi<\/em>\u00a0significa\u00a0peque\u00f1o<\/em>\u00a0y\u00a0Leuf\u00fa<\/em>\u00a0significa\u00a0r\u00edo<\/em>\u2014es un r\u00edo t\u00edpico de la estepa, peque\u00f1o en tama\u00f1o pero muy productivo desde el punto de vista biol\u00f3gico. Se extiende a lo largo de unos 70 kil\u00f3metros y se encuentra a menos de una hora en coche de Bariloche, en la\u00a0Estepa patag\u00f3nica<\/strong>. Se trata de una regi\u00f3n semides\u00e9rtica, muy diferente de los frondosos bosques m\u00e1s cercanos a los Andes. Aqu\u00ed, las formaciones rocosas volc\u00e1nicas y los estrechos ca\u00f1ones excavados por arroyos alimentados por manantiales dominan el paisaje.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Es el r\u00edo m\u00e1s peque\u00f1o en el que pescamos en la zona, lo que lo hace ideal para vadear, a menudo en pantalones cortos y sandalias. Se recomienda utilizar equipo ligero, como una ca\u00f1a de 4 o 5 pesos. La mejor \u00e9poca para visitar este hermoso r\u00edo es noviembre y diciembre, cuando las condiciones son \u00f3ptimas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paisaje y caracter\u00edsticas<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Alimentado por humedales y deshielo, y sin un lago en su cabecera que filtre su caudal, el Pichi Leuf\u00fa tiene un caracter\u00edstico tono verdoso y experimenta grandes variaciones de temperatura a lo largo del d\u00eda. Su variada morfolog\u00eda, su f\u00e1cil vadeo, sus riberas pr\u00e1cticamente desprovistas de vegetaci\u00f3n y su abundante poblaci\u00f3n de truchas lo convierten en un lugar perfecto para perfeccionar t\u00e9cnicas, experimentar con l\u00edneas flotantes y practicar con una caja de moscas secas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El r\u00edo suele dividirse en dos secciones:\u00a0Alto Pichi Leuf\u00fa<\/strong>\u00a0y\u00a0Bajo Pichi Leuf\u00fa<\/strong>, con el puente Pilcaniyeu como l\u00edmite com\u00fan. Una divisi\u00f3n m\u00e1s precisa extiende el tramo superior unas 9 millas por debajo del puente, casi hasta la zona cooperativa de Neumayen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Alto Pichi Leuf\u00fa<\/strong>: Un gradiente m\u00e1s suave, m\u00e1s vegetaci\u00f3n ribere\u00f1a y una mayor variedad en la estructura, con largas riberas cubiertas de hierba, amplias pozas y r\u00e1pidos m\u00e1s espaciados.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Bajo Pichi Leuf\u00fa<\/strong>: Un r\u00edo m\u00e1s empinado, que fluye por entornos m\u00e1s \u00e1ridos. Aqu\u00ed, los r\u00e1pidos son m\u00e1s frecuentes, predominan la grava y los cantos rodados, y el r\u00edo suele discurrir por ca\u00f1ones rocosos que dificultan tanto el acceso como la pesca.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Pesca durante toda la temporada<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    El \u00e9xito en el Pichi Leuf\u00fa reside en apuntar a las pozas m\u00e1s profundas o a los bordes con vegetaci\u00f3n, donde se encuentran los peces m\u00e1s grandes. Las truchas residentes suelen pesar entre 1 y 2 libras, con la posibilidad de encontrar marrones de hasta 4 libras. Las probabilidades de encontrar estos peces m\u00e1s grandes aumentan en marzo y abril, cuando los reproductores se desplazan r\u00edo arriba desde el embalse de Piedra del \u00c1guila. Las truchas arco\u00edris dominan la poblaci\u00f3n, superando en n\u00famero a las marrones en una proporci\u00f3n de cuatro a uno.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    En Noviembre y diciembre<\/strong>, la pesca est\u00e1 en su mejor momento. En d\u00edas soleados, una imitaci\u00f3n de saltamontes bien colocada bajo los acantilados puede atraer a las truchas marrones m\u00e1s grandes del r\u00edo. Lanzar grandes insectos terrestres de goma y mover la punta de la ca\u00f1a a menudo provocar\u00e1 picadas agresivas. Tambi\u00e9n es un r\u00edo ideal para practicar la pesca con mosca seca con equipo ligero, lo cual es divertido y t\u00e9cnico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Durante los meses m\u00e1s calurosos del verano, la pesca se ralentiza, pero quedarse hasta la tarde suele merecer la pena. Alrededor de las 7 p. m., la eclosi\u00f3n de los ef\u00edmeros caddis puede provocar media hora de intensa actividad en la superficie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Se puede llegar f\u00e1cilmente al r\u00edo desde Bariloche por m\u00faltiples rutas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    • Por la Ruta Nacional 237, girando hacia la Ruta Nacional 23 en direcci\u00f3n al puente Pichi Leuf\u00fa (16 + 35 km). Desde all\u00ed, un camino rural sigue la margen derecha.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • O bien por la Ruta 237 hacia el aeropuerto, y luego por la Ruta Provincial 80, que conduce a la secci\u00f3n superior conocida como\u00a0La Pilila<\/em>\u00a0(38 km).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
