The Lower Manso is located about 40 miles from Bariloche. Part of the trip follows gravel roads, making the drive roughly an hour and a half. We typically meet at 7:00–8:00 AM at a designated point in Bariloche before heading to Steffen Lake where we start our float down the river.

Once the boat and gear are ready, we fish from about 9:00–10:00 AM until 1:00 PM, when we break for a well-earned riverside meal. After lunch, we return to the water and fish until around 4:00–5:00 PM. From there, we head back to your accommodation or the agreed meeting point.

The section of tte Lower Manso that we fish begins at Steffen Lake and winds its way for about seven miles before meeting the Villegas River. The scenery along this stretch is nothing short of spectacular: the river flows through pristine Andean forest, its waters shimmering in striking shades of green and blue.

This section offers excellent fishing opportunities, including right at its mouth on Steffen Lake. On good days, landing catches in the double digits is entirely possible. Like other rivers in the basin, the Lower Manso also provides the rare opportunity to achieve a Patagonian Grand Slam—catching brook, rainbow, and brown trout all in the same day. The river change from Villegas on but fishing is less productive in this sections, anyway we could provide trips down there.

In midsummer, the river comes alive with the famous Dragonfly Hatch. This is the prime time to cast large, foamy terrestrials like Fat Alberts, Chernobyl Ants, or realistic dragonfly imitations. Throughout the season, we adapt our gear and techniques to ensure the best experience on the water.

We came to Bariloche hearing stories about the mystical monster trout that live in these waters. We said we would be happy if at least one of us caught one. We had our expectations exceeded with the amount of action we had. To enjoy a steak and Malbec picnic on a beautiful spot on the river made this the best day ever. Looking forward to planning my next trip down here—hopefully in the Fall to see some brown trout action!

The company arranged a wonderful trip to the Limay River. Aliosha is an excellent guide, very organized and patient. It was my first experience with fly fishing, and I was successful in catching fish (4 trouts) The best part was the beautiful scenery and the overall experience of the trip.

We went fly fishing with Tomi Fentini of Fly Fishing Guides Bariloche. He went truly above and beyond. His instruction was incredibly helpful and he was able to give a beginner in an our group a wonderful experience. Fishing with him would be enjoyable even if we skunked. The lunch was unbelievable. In addition, he delivered the goods. He also advised us on fly fishing opportunities elsewhere in Argentina which resulted in the fish of lifetime. I couldn’t recommend him more.

We had such a great day fishing with Matias' guides. My wife and I had Dante. We also had Tommy and Ali (sp). The guys were amazing, the Limay River is one of the prettiest rivers on the planet. Did I mention the shore lunch!! One of our best meals in Bariloche, and definitely the best view, wine and service.

Had a great day fly fish with Dante on Limay. It was the most beautiful river I have ever been on. My girlfriend and I are both beginners and Dante was very patient with teaching us and getting us to spots to catch fish. We caught 6 rainbows despite just learning and it was a blast. Had a delicious steak lunch on shore. It was one of the best fishing experiences I've experienced. Matias the owner was very responsive with the booking process, everything was smooth.
