The Upper Limay is one of Patagonia’s most productive trout rivers, prized for exceptional trout size and a rich forage base that includes native freshwater crustaceans like pancoras (freshwater crabs) and Samastacus crayfish \u2014 food sources that give this river characteristics found nowhere else in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The river is divided into four floatable sections, each stretching six to nine miles. While the sections share a common character, each has its own structure and demands its own approach. Depending on the time of season, certain stretches fish better than others, and trout may be found holding deep, sitting shallow, or keyed into an active insect hatch \u2014 but every section holds the potential for a memorable day, and in every drift lies the chance of hooking the fish of a lifetime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
